Abstract CN74
Background
This study aims to comprehend the levels of spiritual health, survival quality, and life's meaning in Chinese breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. It also seeks to analyze the factors influencing spiritual health and explore the correlation among the three aspects.
Methods
A convenience sampling method was used to select 242 breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, hospitalized in the Department of Medical Oncology of a tertiary-level oncology hospital in Beijing from January to December 2023. Data were collected using a self-administered general information questionnaire, the Chinese version of the European Cancer Therapy and Research Quality of Life-Spiritual Health Scale, the Cancer Patients' Survival Quality Measurement Scale, and the Cancer Patients' Life Meaningfulness Scale. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 26.0 software.
Results
The patients' spiritual health score was 62.21±11.25, survival quality score was 98.10±15.48, and life's meaning score was 109.24±14.71. A positive correlation was found between spiritual health, survival quality, and life's meaning (r=0.330-0.679, P<0.05). Differences were observed in the level of spiritual health and sense of life's meaning among patients with different occupational statuses and per capita monthly income levels (P < 0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that per capita monthly family income, survival quality, and life's meaning are the primary factors influencing the spiritual health of breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy (P < 0.05).
Conclusions
Chinese breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy have moderate to high levels of spiritual health, high survival quality, and a strong sense of life's meaning, with a positive correlation among the three. In clinical practice, medical personnel should consider patients' family economic status, emphasize spiritual care, promote spiritual health, improve patients' survival quality, and enhance their sense of life's meaning.
