Description

This ESMO Clinical Practice Guidelines Webinar focused on late stage ovarian cancer and its application in a real-world case.

The ESMO Clinical Practice Guidelines are a widely used, authoritative source of evidence-based medicine. This ESMO Guideline Webinar brought together all the relevant stakeholders who are developing each Guideline, as well as those who are consulting and implementing the Guideline.

Each webinar focuses on a specific tumour setting; a young oncologist presents a clinical case; the subject editor and primary author of the relevant ESMO Guideline critically analyse it while presenting the Guideline recommendations and a practicing oncologist highlights the challenges and issues related to implementing the Guideline recommendations in daily practice. The webinar concludes with a live discussion of questions submitted by the audience whilst the webinar is taking place. Moreover, a multidisciplinary expert provides different perspectives to the discussion, for a more comprehensive approach.

Learning objectives

  • Promote evidence-based quality cancer care by disseminating the ESMO Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) in the oncology community.
  • Present a clinical case for each of the selected topics for discussion in the context of the ESMO CPG recommendations.
  • Present and critically review the ESMO CPG recommendations for each selected cancer type.
  • Discuss the case, the ESMO CPG recommendations, their impact on care and implementability in the daily practice setting under the guidance of a moderator senior expert, with participation of the guideline authors, practicing oncologists and young oncologists.
  • Audit the fulfillment of the learning objectives and acceptability of the ESMO CPG recommendations by means of an online questionnaire.
