  • Relatively quick
  • Does not require much tumour tissue or high tumour content for a single test [1]
  • Usually high specificity and sensitivity for DNA level rearrangements within a single given gene [2]
  • Can be performed on many types of biopsy specimens including [1] formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections [3, 4]
