- Maintain frequent communication with your doctor and pharmacist
- Tell your doctor if you notice any side effects that bother you or persists
- Keep a list of all the medicines and herbal supplements you are taking
- Inform your doctor and pharmacist when you start taking a new medication
- Check your pharmacist to see if they have a computerised record of all you current medication
- Ask your pharmacist to explain how a particular medicine is taken
- Ask your pharmacist to explain any non-prescription medications, foods or supplements that should be avoided with your cancer drug treatment
- Follow any instructions given by your pharmacist or doctor to change the way you take a particular medicine (this may be necessary due to prevent potential drug-drug interactions)
- Read the leaflets given to you by your pharmacist when you receive a new medication. Look closely at the side effects and possible drug interactions.
