Colorectal cancer subtyping consortium (CRCSC) identifies consensus of molecular subtypes

Speaker: Fortunato Ciardiello

F. Ciardiello elaborates the first effort to generate consensus of colorectal cancer subtypes. By comparing multiple classifiers, 4 biologically distinct subtypes with unique clinical and molecular markers were identified. A remarkable effort on correlating consensus classification system subtypes with benefit from adjuvant chemotherapies and response to targeted agents is still an experimental step towards precision medicine.
