Abstract

Locoregional treatment includes transarterial embolization by lipiodol chemotherapy mixture or drug eluting beads. Also, it includes percutaneous local thermal ablation by radiofrequency, microwave, laser or cryoablation as well as local alcohol injection. Different imaging appearances for the treated primary hepatocellular carcinoma had been seen in CT after applying these different methods. Thus radiologists should here differentiate between completely ablated lesions and lesions with residuals.
